Hey there, you lovely people! Thank you so, so much for participating in this project! Even if you aren't an artist or won't be designing a card, any suggestions/comments/encouragements you have to give are wonderful!
This project is all about creating a complete, fully functioning Rooster Teeth tarot deck. More importantly though, this is just about the community coming together to create something awesome (as we tend to do)!
I (hup123hup123slapslap) have elected to organize this project, however unqualified I am. I'll do my best, but please have patience with me if I'm kind of a dolt with some of this.
First thing's first:
It seems quite a few people are interested in buying this when it's finished. As such, all of these cards will be printed and sold in decks to those who want 'em. I can't totally speculate on numbers and prices just yet, as we're still in the baby stages of this project, but I know it's gonna be quite an investment for me as a broke college student. I have a donation button on my blog to help out, but it's still gonna be rough. That being said, I can't outright pay all of you lovely artists outright, like I wish I could. However, if you design a card you will absolutely get the card(s) you designed sent to you, as well as a discount on the actual deck if you want it. I would shower all of you hard workers with money if I could, but alas, the world is not kind on my wallet. I hope that this system will be a fair trade-off instead.
The website:
Tumblr is absolutely not collaboration friendly and I've worked on this site a couple of times with various youtube groups and I've found it's good for collaboration. I hope it's pretty straightforward and easy, but my apologies if working through another website is a bit of a pain.
This is the general board, where you'll find all the basics. The questions, suggestions, and chat threads are here.
If you go back to the homepage, you'll find 2 other boards. The Cards one has all the information you'll need regarding who is signed up for what card, how you sign up for cards, and card designing rules, ect. The Submissions board lays out how to submit your finished cards.
General Rules:
-Don't be rude/mean. And just, overall, let's respect each other, shall we?
-Because this is all about art, I'm gonna specifically add that judging/being harsh about other people's art is NOT OK. If an artist decides to post their in progress stuff and opens up the floor for suggestions and constructive criticism, that's one thing, but being a jerk about other people's work is totally uncool and will get you banned.
-No spamming.
-Please have you username be the same as your tumblr name. That way everybody can contact everybody even if they forget to log on here for a couple of days (after all, we're all addicted to our tumblrs, right?)
To keep everything organized, mostly everything else is located under various threads. Please be sure to read everything!
I'll add rules as needed, but I think we should all know the basics of how to behave, right? We're all mature here…or as mature as people who spend their free time watching lovable dummies on the internet can be.
If you have any questions, please post them under the comments thread rather than here.
Have fun, everybody!
