For the most part, these cards are up for personal interpretation/preference. However, incorporating as many aspects of standard tarot as you can would be preferable.
The Tarot Card General Information and Images thread is all for helping you out on that front!
As for the images though, it's all up to what fits. For example, the Fool card often features a dog. Because Caboose is the Fool, subbing Freckles in as the dog would be perfect. Just get creative and do the best you can.
Other than that, full color + a professional-esque look is required. Just try to keep them from looking too sketchy, really.
Attached to this post is the template in .jpg and .psd forms. If you need a different format let me know! It's from the website I plan to print the cards from (printer studio.com), though dumbed down a bit. There's a more detailed template available on the website if you need it.
To ensure that their is a border around the cards, please leave everything outside of the text-safe zone white. That way the image will stay in tact after any wear and tear on the actual cards.
In terms of the final project printerstudio requires:
File types accepted: jpg, bmp, png, gif and tiff
Min resolution 897 x 1497 pixels (300DPI) | Max file size 32MB
The rules specific to choosing cards and submitting cards are all in their respective threads.
Also, if you have any concerns or want to run some ideas before designing you card you can do that here.
